What to wear and bring on a desert buggy or quad tour in Liwa
Last updated 26 October 2026
On every guided buggy and quad tour we run in Liwa, you are given a helmet, goggles, gloves and drinking water. Wear trousers, a long-sleeved top and comfortable sports shoes, and bring your documents. There is no place to store personal belongings, so travel light.

What is provided
The protective equipment is the same on all our tours. On our multi-day expeditions more is included (such as meals): check the "What's included" section of the tour you are booking.
- A helmet that protects your head.
- Motorcycle-style goggles.
- Gloves.
- Drinking water, included on all our tours.
What to wear
- Shoes: comfortable sports shoes or sneakers. Closed shoes only, no flip-flops or sandals.
- Trousers: ideally long trousers.
- Top: a long-sleeved top.
What to bring
- Your documents.
- A camera and a phone are fine to carry.
- Do not film or take photos while driving. There are no mounts for cameras or phones, so shoot at the photo stops instead.
Belongings and storage
We have no space to store personal belongings and we are not responsible for them. Decide before you arrive what you leave in your car or hotel, and bring only what you can carry with you.
Glasses
You can wear your own glasses under our goggles. Very large frames may get in the way, so try them on with the goggles at the start of the tour.
Photo stops
On the two-hour tours at Liwa Festival there are two photo zones where guests take their own pictures.
